Happy Full Thunder Moon...!!!

*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*

{{Please remember, I'm posting my pics as Small. To enlarge them, click on them. They are click-able links, to the larger size.
Please and Thank you...}}

{Not clear, not close, very blurry. Best I could do.}

Native American symbolic full moon names were established by eastern and northern tribes, such as the Algonquin and the Iroquois Confederacy. These remarkable people assigned attributes to each of the full moons according to the seasonal characteristics.

{The Lady Moon ...}

{...reflected...}

{...in the pool water}

The Full Moon of July was the Thunder Moon. Since this month is notorious for big booms of thunder and storms.
*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*

Be afraid! ,-) The little pink 'Old' Rose is blooming again. You'll be *subjected* to another week of pics! :-)

*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*

And look, more of the blue Hydrangea out in the front perennial garden. I just can't get enough of it.

Especially since its blooms are soooo big.

Someone wondered what Hydrangeas *like*... E. says acid. He uses Miracid. It really makes them happpppy.
*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*

But... Sadness... Look what happened to the first tomato! On the bottom! Eeeek!

E. calls it "Blossom End Rot" or some such. Tomato is now gone. We keep an eye on the other 2 on another plant. And the smaller of the three plants ~ an Heirloom Tomato of some sort, now has blossoms! Hope springs eternal. :-)
*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*

Plus, something is eating at my Impatient! Grrrr... Guess it's "survival of the fittest." "Dog eat dog." "Bug eat pretty flowers and tasty tomatoes." And leaves too!

*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*

But these *guys* seem to be doing ok.

*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*

Someone asked another question... How to post pics 'small,' but have them be click-able and show in a bigger size? ~~~*~~~ When I download my pics into my iPhoto thing, I make my pics, sized as 800 on the largest 'side.' Sorry, but that's the best I can tell you, since I'm not techy. But thus, they can show as big as a screen, on my computer. ~~~*~~~ And I figure, they do the same, on other computers. Maybe a tiny bit bigger, at times, but that's just the top or bottom edge. I hope. ~~~*~~~ Then when I go to add pics to my post {by clicking on the little blue box, at the top of the Blogger-being-composed-post}, I see 3 sizes from which to choose. If I want my pics to be b-i-g, like I used to, I click on the Large box. Now I click on the Small box. ~~~*~~~ For the "click on pic & it enlarges," bet there is some setting you have to have correctly done, but I looked in Settings and I can't find it. :-( Someone else who knows this stuff, please HELP! :-)
*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*
I feel I rattle on and rattle on, and don't make a lot of sense. Maybe someone else can do all this, in a nice concise comment, and *save me*! :-)
*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*

I also want to thank all who leave comments here. At any time. At every time. At random times. Or consistently. Thank you for them all. I appreciate all of them. I am still struggling with the issue of not being able to return each and every comment. I do try a lot. But I also know, I fall down on the total job of comment returns. And... Like I've said a *zillion* times, I struggle with this.
*~~~*~~~*
I so want to not struggle with it. I so want this. Because it takes away some of
the fun of blogging. And fun is the name of the game, for my kind of blogging. I'm not selling anything and I'm not doing any kind of an instructional blog, where people consistently come, to find IDEAS or the like. So... fun is the name of the game. And for me to dampen my fun, is pretty silly. :-(
*~~~*~~~*
We only 'go this way once,' and I'm older and should really be paying attention to only doing what I really want and enjoy and what makes me feel good. {After small duties, of course. Even now, I'm not without some duties.} But basically, humans are wired to seek pleasure and avoid pain. I've had both, in my life. And "now is later." So, if not now, when?<--That's my mantra! :-) But moaning and groaning about how I blog, is not following my mantra. Grrrr me... *~~~*~~~*
Hey, {the last time I did this whine} did I say that I'd never do it again? -heh- Guess I fouled up hu? >,-)))))))

{If you click on the above and make it bigger... and really look closely... you can maybe see the outline of trees, to the right and under the moon. Which would make for a much more interesting photo}

Please, if you didn't see the beautiful Full July Thunder Moon last night... Please look tonight. And even tomorrow night. 'Twill be very full, for a bit, still. Very beautiful.
~*~
And if you're lucky, you'll feel *moongazy*... :-)
~*~
Nope, too late for that {*moongazy*}, with this Full Moon. Has to be right when it rises to fullness. But, there is always another Full Moon! Next month! :-)
*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*

Back to "this and that"... At last! :-)

{New bud coming, on one of the 'Old Roses'}

We went this morning and "stimulated the economy." If you need things, now is the time to do both... 1) get good buys, and 2) "stimulate the economy." We got this and that, but I got what I have been seeking, so far this Summer.

Biggggg sun glasses!!!!

I've been wearing what I got, after my cataract operations. {Wearing them for tooooo long! -sigh-} They both cover well and do not 'hit' my regular glasses, underneath. I have to have my regular glasses on, to see. To drive. To take photos. Etc. ~~~~~~ But I've been trying for a long time, to find regular sun glasses, which don't hit my regular glasses. And in the second place we went, this morning, I did!
~~~~~~ I am sooooo excited!!!! :-)))) No more will I have to go around looking like the comic character of 'Maxine'!!! Why I now look positively...
Errrrrr...
Nearly....
OK, just use your imagination!!!...
Like a movie star! ^_^
The Echinacea or Purple Cone-flower {above} is coming into bloom. Or maybe these are Pale Purple Cone-flowers, since they look nearly pink to me.
{Getting closer, to one Cone-flower}
I've been sort-of taking a holiday from a lot of the Net, over this past 4th of July weekend. Only posting bits. Not getting around to many other blogs, in "Pretty Blog Land." So now, I'm quite behind. And wondering how to address this situation? ~~~~~~ If I try to read every single entry on every single blog, which I like to visit, I'll stay way behind. I'll never catch up. :-( So, perhaps I'd better just start with a clean slate, so to speak. Mark everything 'as read,' in my Google Reader. And then, go on from there. ~~~~~~ I hope I'll not have missed some big news, in someone's blog, this way. But if I do, please understand.
{And now, even closer}
Do you see what I spied on the Cone-flower?
Do you see how, if you are kind, you could say I got a sort-of a close-up?
Yes, it's a *dreaded* Japanese Beetle, the bane of the flower garden. Yes, I know. But... If you are kind, you will say I got a pretty good close-up of him. ,-) With me, getting a close-up is a matter of "Begers can't be choosers," about which insect to use. The
*dreaded* Japanese Beetle is slow, and shiny and shows up pretty well. So.... here it is! My *majestic* first close-up of ... mmmmm.... no other way to put it hu? Of... A bug.
Your opinion. I want your opinion...
Picture Source
This is 'Lucinda Grande' Font. Is this font easier to read, than my usual fancier one?
This is 'Lucinda Grand' Font, in bold. Is this easier to read, than the non-bold one, above? Or harder to read, than non-bold above?
~~~***~~~

And I know, without asking... No more "cutesy" and "pretty" colors. Like PINK and BLUE words! No matter how pretttttttty I think those colors look, in some blogs! I know. It stinks when I use them. Right? Right? It's OK to tell me so. I'm asking. And when I ask, I deserve the truth. Down with PINK and BLUE words! -grinnn- Don't worry! I'll *survive* without PINK and BLUE words. Yeah, I know. If I'll *survive* so well, why don't I stop talking about it?!? -giggles- Point taken. I stop. :-))))

~~~***~~~
But, can I still use lines-in-colors? Or are they too distracting too?
Can I put colored stuff, as breaks between paragraphs? Like above and below...?
~~~***~~~
***~~~***~~~

Please can I still do this???? Please... Pretty please... Pretty please with sugar on it? I
think that to be able to put ~~~***~~~ between my paragraphs, will ease my *Addiction to Pink and Blue*! ,-)))) Ooops, I slipped! I typed in color! -grin-

~~~***~~~***~~~***~~~
What in blue blazes brought all this on, you want to ask? Well, I was going to link to a great article I read, about "Is a blog just for me?" And this article said no. Because once we click on publish, for our blog entry, it's no longer private. It becomes a published
form of communication. I will link to this article, at a later date. But before I did so today, I started to think, about me-myself and this issue... The fancy font I use. And my addiction to use of colored words. Not everyone loves it. Not every monitor shows colored words, in a clear enough way, to make it an easy read. And after all, since I am blogging to communicate, I want to make reading my words, as easy as possible. Which is only common sense.
~~~***~~~***~~~***~~~

And now, I've put off doing my stuff for the day, long enough. So I'll be ever so good
and get off the Net! :-)))) Thank you in advance {TIA} for giving me {commenting} your answers to my questions. :-) {Even if I have asked about words-in-color before.} Now is your chance! Let me know what you really think about colors used in words to be read, in entries. And fonts... Etc.

Time out!

Does anyone remember the song in the movie version of 'My Fair Lady'? One which Rex Harrison sang, when he was upset with *women.* "Why Can't A Woman Be More Like A Man?" {It has another name, but that is what I remember it as} Anyway, as an intro to this song, Rex was storming about, saying a 4 letter word, which begins with "D" and ends with "n". Now do you remember?
~~~***~~~
Well, that is what I am saying now, out loud!!! Because Blogger will not let me upload any more *Pretty Pics* to this entry!!!! "D _ _ n!" "D _ _ n!" "D _ _ n!" "D _ _ n!"
~~~***~~~
And I can't wait any longer to post this entry. And I have more *pretty pics* to upload. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... So, I will just have to save them, for another time. :-((( -pout-

Spring projects around here, both inside and out, are still piling up. If I don't get going on them soon, it's going to be Summer! Eeeeek! >,-)
~~~***~~~
Annnnnnd, I just don't want to get going on projects, while on my regular schedule. Which of course, entails hours and hours in my computer chair, in front of my monitor. *Surprise,* hu? Nope, no surprise! And I'll bet I'm not alone in this predicament. Betcha' there are plenty, reading this, who have the same {computer} tendencies. Heh, heh, heh...
~~~***~~~
Sooooo ~ I have to 'bite the bullet' and cut back on my computer time. Just until I get some of these projects done. I'm really getting inspired by reading of gals who are completing necessary projects. And I'm really *feeling the heat* now, myself.

~~~
***~~~*~~~***~~~
And just to pass the word ~ Watch out for Full Moon Effect this month! ,-) I kid you not. The May Full Moon is next Tuesday and the Full Moon Effect is already hitting around these parts. My d-i-law just called... Her {new} washing machine is locked closed, with a load in it! And the repair man can't get here till Monday. {She'll just come next door and use ours but... It's the principal of the thing! Machine is only 6 months old!} Plus, her cable tv connection is not working correctly, and their home computer died and... I think you see the picture. Oh and the brake fluid in E.'s old truck has to be replaced. My suggestion ~ "Batten down the hatches, this Full Moon Effect may be a rough ride!" -giggles-
Parler du fait de remarquer
I wrote the Title in French, because I thought, if I used English, everyone might run away. >,-) This way, I might tweak some people's curiosity enough, that they'll read a bit. And maybe even read all. So, to come clean ~ the Title means 'To speak of commenting.' And if you got this far, hopefully you won't bolt now. Hopefully, you stick around. See if I came up with anything new and different on the topic, for a change. :-)
The Dictionary calls commenting..."A written note intended as an explanation, illustration, or criticism of a passage in a book or other writing; an annotation." We in Blog Land call it ~ {maybe} the life blood of blogging. {Maybe} the most troublesome thing, about blogging. {Maybe} many things. But never, never, never do we say, it's a simple topic.
I have so much trouble with it, that I keep links to Net sites, which discuss it. So I suppose I can just give you links to these, and let it go at that. But, you *know* I *can't* just do that! ,-) Gotta' say something myself. :-) But first, the links...
Do you hope or do you...
On feeling obligated to...
Choosing between...
How not to...
Maybe the one which catches my eye the most is the "Do you hope or do you expect..." one. That one seems to "hit the nail on the head," so to speak. The $64,000 Question, as they say. Getting comments ~ do you expect your readers to comment on your blog? Or do you hope your readers will comment on your blog? When I fully figure that one out, it may solve all my blogging questions/issues. Especially the *biggie* of ~ feeling very, very obligated to comment in the blog, of each and everyone person, who comments in mine.
Maybe, if I figure out "My Personal Philosophy" about how I really feel about comments... Then that may spill over onto how I do comments. If I can finally feel super-comfy with my own views, about comments I get, then why not deal with everyone else, in the same way? This really seems the logical way to do it.
If I decide that I have to have lots of comments... If I decide that I am totally focused on the number of comments I get... If I feel my blogging life is worthless, without lots and lots of comments... Then I'd better figure everyone else feels the same. And act thus. Otherwise, I want one standard for me, and a different standard, for everyone else. Which seems kind of un-fair, from the "get-go."
What is my ideal? What would I like to decide, is my over-all commenting philosophy? What do I really, really want to zero in on?
Well, since I always seem to be trying to find simplicity ~ at least I'm always reading about it! :-) ~ Then simplicity should guide me. So, what's the simplest way {for me} to deal with the total issue of commenting?
To hope to get comments. Not to expect them, for any reason. Not to need them. Not to gauge my personal value/worth, or the value/worth of my blogging, on the number of them. Wow, but that sounds wonderful and freeing and super-duper, to me!!!! Wow! -happy sigh-
So logic says, to hope everyone else, feels the same way. And to not worry, if they don't. Because the only one I am in charge of, is me. And the only one I have any power over, is me. And the only one I should concern myself about, is me. In Blog Land, that is! Blog Land isn't family or duty or necessary or life threatening, or etc. 'Tis totally discretionary. So everyone in Blog Land has to handle their own self, in regard to what's important to them, and how they doooooooo Blog Land.
But this is one of those freeing views, which are so, so, so hard to come by. Funny how many freeing things, are so hard to make part of us, hu? Really funny. Do humans want to make life difficult, for some reason? Do we want to give ourselves as many problems as is possible? Weird. But ~ that is a topic for another day. :-)
Soooooooo ~ I rattled on, about my thoughts and my {hopeful} decision, on this blogging issue of comments. Which issue/comments seems dear to a lot of our hearts. :-) Now it's your turn to chime in. I am one voice. I am one blogger. Doing my own thing. I'd love to hear everyone's voice, on this. Agree. Disagree. Shocked. Hopeful. Turned off by my view. Maybe like part of my view. Everyone's personal views, on blogging. Blogging can be this...a kind of a 'brain storming' of ideas. I say my *something,* in an entry. And then you say your *something,* in a comment. Does that sound great?
We are individuals! We each are free to come to our own conclusions. To me, this is true on everything. But even if you don't agree, that far.... Seems that what each of us does, in Blogging, simply has to be our own decision. I will admit... I hope for lots of chiming in, on this entry. :-))))
For 'GRAMMIEOF3'...
~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~
Ya' know 'Grammieof3', I'm getting a little tired of your "drive-by-shooting" comments in my blog. When I click on your name-link, I only get a mostly empty Profile Page. With the grand total of information on you being...
Grammieof3
User Stats
On Blogger Since - Dec. 2007
Profile Views - 35
No link to your Blog. No link to your Home Page. No link, period.
Everyone reading this, please click on the link I gave you up there. Her 'Blogger name.' The one I keep finding, when I read her "drive-by-shooting" comments in my blog. Do any of you find a link to a Blog, on her Profile Page?? If so, please share it with me.
Her first "drive-by-shooting" comment, was to tell me, that my entry words showed that "I didn't' get it, " the topic. And she also added that I'd probably not allow her comment. But ~ I did. ,-) She signed as Debra. But the only Debra I Net-know, is NOT a Grammie of 3. And we communicate regularly, and she'd not resort to a make-believe name in Blogger. {This entry is here, and scroll down to the 6th comment. Which is from 'Grammieof3'.}
My point is ~ I don't like this kind of comment. I'd really like to be able to read any commenter's blog. Or know them personally. Not so with 'Grammieof3.' She comments and runs and hides.
Unless she shows herself, this is the last comment by her, I will allow on my blogs.
Does anyone think I am being unfair, in my wishes? Or do most bloggers like to be able to read the blogs, of those who comment? As I do?
Sunday
A cup of Decaf and a thick slice of homemade bread, with some butter and some Peanut Butter on it... Mmmmmm, yummy way to start the day. :-)
Tracks in the snow... I think the big ones, are a bunny. Not sure about the small ones.
A bird maybe...
More lovely pages from March/April 'Victoria'
Pretty picture, to ease into a not-so-pretty subject... My issues with Google blocking me out of blogging. At first I couldn't figure out how Google could do this. I don't use Gmail here. I use Blogger, to blog. I only use Google for my Google Reader. Then it dawned on me! Is Blogger owned by Google? Sure enough! It is! So this is how Google can keep doing this to me! Grrrrr...
More pretty 'Victoria'
-sigh- Needless to say, I am looking into this matter ~ Of blogging, so that Google can not keep doing this to me. Also needless to say, if I find another way, I will "leave a trail of crumbs" here, so that anyone who wants to, can follow me. This is not a move to be made quickly, or without study and trial. Which I'm in the process of doing.
More pretty 'Victoria'
Also needless to say, I well remember the issues which some ladies had, when they tried to delete their Blogger blogs. To refresh your memory, please read here and here. Read and weep. So naturally, I will NOT ever delete anything in Blogger. Whether I find another blogging home, or not.
******
Perhaps this issue has been solved by Blogger. I don't know. But I will not take a chance, that it has been solved/fixed, or not. Or that it stays solved/fixed. I will not delete any Blogger blogs.
More pretty 'Victoria'
Happy rest of Sunday, to you all...
*Amazing* discovery!!! ,-)
I just realized something. Not everyone signs their name to comments. At least in comments on my blog, which belongs to the CDPBlog... many people don't. Wow! What a commenting time savings! I usually copy-and-paste my Mari-Nanci in every comment. That's quick and fine, if I have not copied something from the post, I'm commenting on. Then I have to re-copy my name, to re-paste it in my next comment. And on, and on, and on.
Why do I have to sign my comment, when my name is right there, as a click-able link, at the top of my comment? Duhhhh me. Cool!! I noticed something great, this morning! :-)
Last night, my husband went out in the back yard, in the cold, to view the eclipse. Once! It was way too cold out there to stay. But he said it was lovely.
Me? Nope. I stayed warm inside. ,-) No going out in the back yard, in this weather, late at night! I wonder how many "Pretty Blog Land" gals were able to see it?
Success!!!!!!!!!!
I was trying to comment in someone's blog, when I got the notice that Google had basically declared me a danger to everyone. And had made me "dead in the water," as to posting and commenting.
Eeeeek!!!
So far, I have checked the following things...
I am allowed to comment, in my own blog.
And I am allowed to post entries, in my own blog.
Now to see if I can comment, in any other blogs.
Update:
It worked. I could comment in Vee's blog!!!
Slowly, 'the light is dawning' in my little brain. I was trying to leave a click-able link back to this blog, in comments. Because now and then, my regular click-able link back, does not work. {Meaning, it takes you to a page, which erroneously says I do not allow anyone to access my Profile Page.} So... I figured, I'd better leave a link to 'smilnsigh,' after my signature.
But!
Some blogs allow one to leave a click-able link. And some do not. So I was switching back and forth, between two versions of my signature + blog link. Betcha' I messed up my link back, on the last comment try. And it got garbled. And Google thus thought it looked like I was
'An Evil Bot' or 'Something Sent By A Virus'!! Eeeeeeek!!!!!
Me, on a Mac, who can't get infected with those nasty things, anyway.
Me, the *purest of the pure,* among women-kind. >,-))))
Me... Who doesn't like virus' or worm or any of those nasty automated badddd things.
-whine- -pout- -sigh- -moan- -cry- Did I say whine? ,-)
But it's OK now! Whewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!
I think I need a large cup of decaf, with some real coffee snuck into it! ,-)))))))))
