"The Autumnal EquinoxThe day becomes more solemn and serene
When noon is passed; there is harmony
In Autumn, and a lustre in the sky,
Which through the summer is not heard or seen,
As if it could not be, as if it had not been!"
~~Percy Bysshe Shelley
Astronomically, the equinoxes occur at opposite points in the calendar where the sun crosses the celestial equator, when the duration of night and day is equal in all parts of the world {twelve hours each}.
So, I suppose it can be viewed as a very short time of complete equilibrium, in the natural world.
Maybe we could take a cue from this happening, and look into our lives. To see if anything is 'out of whack,' so to speak. To see what is pulling us too far one way, and thus, shortchanging something else. Just sort of looking into our own equilibrium. We tend to just go along... Not really paying too close attention to every day stuff... Not always noticing a trend, in ourselves. Trends which make us more calm, happy, relaxed... are great. On the other hand, trends which make us upset, nervous, concerned... are not so great.
Maybe, the Autumnal Equinox is a neat time to stop, look and listen... Inside ourselves. To make ourselves take that time, for ourselves. I'm not so busy at this time in my life, so I have the time. Busy people have to carve out time for self. But doesn't it seem a good idea? A wee bit of time for ourselves? Sure it does. :-)
What says Autumn or September better, than fresh picked McIntosh Apples, made into Apple Pie, and served with slices of Sharp Cheddar Cheese, on the side? Wishing you Dear Reader, a big slice!!!Gentle hugs,

"There is something in the autumn that is native to my blood ~~
Touch of manner, hint of mood;
And my heart is like a rhyme,
With the yellow and the purple and the crimson keeping time.
~~Bliss Carman
