One of my husband's tiny red 'Old Roses'...
The 'Old' Pink Rose again. After the rain, and a bit of wet dust on it... Still so beautiful though. And the color keeps changing, bit by bit. Hard to believe that he {my husband, the Gardener} just planted it, this year.**~~~*~~~**~~~*~~~**

Saturday was sunny and lovely and we had our driveway sealed. Handy that Sat. was nice, because this morning, we had rolling thunder storms. Not severe, but too much rain, for sealing driveways. ~~~~ The crew finished and were ready to leave. But! Next door was to be done too. Nope, they said, we only have your residence, on our project list. We said, call your office! D-i-law will not *be amused* if she comes home, and their driveway is not done. She is the one who called and arranged for both to be done!!! ~~~~ So they called. There were two crews working in town and the other crew had next door, on their list. What...??? With the cost of gas, two jobs, right next to each other, are scheduled for two different crews?!? -head desk- -head desk- :-(**~~~*~~~**~~~*~~~**
More Bluebells. Doesn't this look like a place, to find Faeries? :-)Your fairy is called Columbine Goblintree
She is a bringer of riches and wealth.
She is a bringer of riches and wealth.
She lives in mushroom fields and quiet meadows.
She is only seen when the first leaves fall from the trees.
She wears lilac and purple like columbine flowers. She has gentle green wings like a butterfly.

I stayed up too late last night, reading this. And since there were T-storms around this morning, and I didn't want to be on the Net, I sat in my comfy chair and finished it. :-) Published way back in 1958, it has the look and the feel of an old book. The pages a bit yellowed and showing the wear of many readers, in the past 50 years. :-)A light, summer reading book. Quoting the fly leaf, "...enchanting novel concerns a family of 5 English children {ages 4 up to 16}, thrown on their own for a part of a summer, in a little town on the Marne. Unwelcome at the 'pension' {old French hotel} where they have been stranded {by the illness of their Mother}, they are forced to develop a secret life of their own, and they do so with all the cunning of childhood. While they watch the comings and going of the older people..."
Old French hotel, various gardens near it, an orchard full of Greengage, a delicious fruit... And beyond the orchard, a blue door to the river... Oldest girl just blossoming into a beauty... A mysterious and charming Englishman... Various not-so-charming people also in the hotel... :-) Yummmmmmy...
