Information needed, quickly!

Someone with more experience at this, than I, please tell me...

Is it usual for a painter to keep people 'up in the air' {for a month and a half}, about a firm date for a job? Yes, I know the answer to this, is Yes! :-)

But I continue...

For the following day... Tuesday AM! When the painters will be here! :-(

Husband says this is cool.

I say Whooooooooah! We are not 'spring-chickens.' If we were, we'd be doing all this painting, ourselves. Phulleeeeeeeeze give us a wee bit more time to "do what we have to do," in preparation. Sure we've done the 'throwing-stuff-out' thing. I mean things like maybe move our bed out of our bedroom...? Move other furniture...? Take up a rug, in front room...? Etc.

I am *spitting nails* this morning. I am *loaded for bear,* this morning.

Please tell me. Is this the usual way, for painters to act?

And if so, should I *un-load*? Please and thank you.
