I had to have fasting blood work done at 7:15 A.M. this morning. Our little red Honda is still in the shop, and no way I was going to try to drive the old Chevy truck over to the doc's office, especially fasting! Eeeeeek! So I made him coffee and off we went, at the crack of dawn.
Now when I say 'the crack of dawn,' I mean it! In the East, a beautiful sun rise was happening. And so, it was not any too light out. And 1950 trucks did not have bright head lights. Luckily, it began to lighten, and there wasn't much traffic yet. Morning go-to-work traffic isn't high, until later than 7 A.M. So off we chugged. ,-)

'Mind you,' he finds the sound of that motor, to be a "thing of beauty." And I suppose it is. But when it's both early and cold, he has to do a lot of playing with the choke and throttle. Both of which, he has to work by hand! Plus, shifting is real shifting. And no power steering. It's an interesting happening. I just look out the window.
Just getting there was 'fun' enough. He let me off at the door, and when I got out of the truck, I noticed my slip... "Oh no! Is it hanging? Is it longer than this dress?" Of course, the answer was "Yes!" Like a couple of inches of white, below the denim dress! -sigh- Talk about Ma Kettle! :-(((( And he had not noticed, at home! But if he did notice, he'd have thought it was some form of fashion. ,-)
So, luckily no one was around that early, and on my way to the elevators, I did a quick hitch-up of slip straps. But then, they had to be pushed back over, so they didn't show under dress and over-blouse. And I had to kind of walk carefully, so as not to let it slip down again. Wheeeee... "Are we having fun yet?"
But that's not all! The sweet girl at the counter said; "Your appointment is for tomorrow morning." -groannnnnnn- :-) But, she called to the back, and they had the order, and did it anyway. And very quickly. No one was ahead of me and so... I slipped right in. Walking carefully so as not to let my slip ... slip. 'The Vampire' got needed blood, on first jab. Yeaaaaaaaa!!! All's well that ends well. :-)
