August 1st...

Little black cat came for her morning stalk of our pond frogs, and her morning drink from the pond. She's not nearly so spooky anymore. And she listened while I advised her, that those frogs wouldn't taste very good... But she had to be on her way, shortly. Down and over, along the back garden and under the fence ~ to do her morning check of son's yard, next door. I love it, how they have their "route," which they seem to follow religiously, day after day. :-)

Has anyone heard of both 'Queen Ann's Lace' and 'Bishop's Weed'? We have a much earlier blooming of lots and lots and lots of 'Queen Ann's Lace.' And now, have a less profuse blooming of a similar looking flower. {In among the blossoming Hasta, above...} Husband {The Gardener} thinks this later but similar white lacy-looking flower, is 'Bishop's Weed.' Anyone know of both? And if one blooms later, than the other? Or even if you don't know of the two names, do you have this "Second Blooming" in your neck of the woods too?

Yes, it's now fully August! Totally 'High Summer Season' here. The city being crammed full of visitors. And of the-rich-and-famous going to the track and the polo matches and having their cocktail parties and charity balls. Must admit, they do raise money for charities, while here and having their August fun. And all this is fun for locals to watch. Not that *ordinary locals* like I, go to their soirees. -grin- But you can ride by and take a peek, because lots are held out of doors, under tents and the stars. Or read about them in the local "Society Column." ,-)
