I have a precious Desktop Wallpaper by Mary Englebreit. Above is a section of it. When I just came on line, it struck me..... Why can't I dress like that?It's old fashioned, but not Victorian or of the 1800's. It's warm and feminine and country-ish... with the mix and match of plaids and stripes. And the cut of the sweater makes it almost 1920's. I just love the heavy lace on the peticoat, peeking out from under the 3/4 length skirt. Which is a kind of a 'surprise,' accompanying the heavier looking plaid of the skirt and stripe of the cool weather socks.
Oh sigh... I wish I could find a catalogue which would have such clothing.
Or that I would 'fire-up' the sewing machine and re-master simple sewing.
