"A Cozy Time"
"The first hint of frost seems always to come in October, when misty air fills each morning and finding a fleecy sweater is the thing to do. The days are dappled now -- by cornflower-blue skies and fiery sunsets and kaleidoscopic leaves twirling in ever-widening circles around our feet. Join us as we savor this mellow season and celebrate a cozy time."

A happy October 1st to you, Dear Reader!
I wish you lots of dry leaves, to scuff through. Thus releasing their delicious fragrance. And a pretty red sweater, to ward off any chill. And I especially wish you a pair of well-used buckling shoes {in red of course}... To match your red sweater, and red plaid dress. Like the little girl in my header picture. :-) Wouldn't it made a very October-ish happening, if we could walk down a leaf strewn path together... Hand in hand, just like little girls do? :-)

We can come back and sit by the fire in the afternoon, and maybe have some apples and cheese, like above.

To hold us over, till drinks before dinner...

And Pumpkin Soup, to begin the dinner with...

How come all this, you ask?
Oh I forgot to tell you.
We are staying at a small Inn in the Adirondack Mountains.

Where more than a hundred years ago, those in search of peace amid the pine trees, discovered Lake Placid. A lovely lake nestled in the Adirondack Mountains. And built "camps," which were log-built and warmed by fireplaces... But they also provided all the luxuries which the Gilded Age's captains of industry had come to expect. This was the beginning of such Inns.
So of course, in the morning we can look forward to a lovely breakfast, on the porch, overlooking the Lake. :-)A nice way to begin October, I think... :-)
