Leaving stress behind...

Dear Sherry is inspiring me to try to leave stress behind. As much as is in my control, of course. Life throws stress at us, and we can't stop that. But we can try to not add any stress, on our own. And if we don't pay close attention to this, we can do a whole lot of adding our own stress. And never notice.

That's the sad part. Adding stress ourselves. Unawares. So, Sherry is inspiring me to notice. :-)

Well, first thing this morning, life threw leaking-water-under-kitchen-sink at my husband and I. But we simply mopped it up and called a plumber and got out some left-over paper plates. Now this probably doesn't sound like a *humongous* accomplishment. Sounds like what anyone would do. But not so around here. My husband can do about anything around the house/yard/etc. He can repair things and takes care of things and etc. And not long ago, he'd have tackled replacement himself. But ... He has finally gotten to the point of knowing when to not waste hours on such.

Sure, he could do it. But he's not 21 years of age any more, and does he really feel like spending hours, on his back, fixing plumbing? Happily, the answer is now NO. Plus, if he did one replacement, it might not do-the-trick and then he'd still have to call the plumber, to know what's really gone wrong. Anyway, the end result is ~~ We didn't allow ourselves, to make life's stress, worse. Yeaaaa! One battle won! :-)

Today was a good day for me to try to begin this Leaving Stress Behind. What with the plumbing work going on today. And having to go to a friend's daughter's wake tomorrow.
Yes, today was a good day, for me to start...

Have you thought of trying to 'Leave Stress Behind' ? Yes, even at this Holiday time of year! Don't we need such a project, even more, at this time of year? :-) Just a thought...
