Not many blooms left....

It's October and not many flowers are still really blooming...

This late blooming Hydrangea is still quite lovely. See the way it is turning, from all-over blue, to a delicate combination of blue and pinkish mauve?

.One of the "Old Roses" is still putting out an occasional couple of buds.

.Seeds around...

.And more seeds.... The promise of another Spring...

A new department store opened today. One of those huge warehouse-like places, which is prettied up and has lots of different sections. Not really sections, but it looks that way. You can walk along the perimeter, with stops at this department and that department. And then explore the departments in the middle. In other words, you can walk and walk and walk and walk. :-)
Me~thinks it will be a nice alternative for bad weather walking .

Being the Opening Day, and having advertised lots and lots of *Specials,* naturally it was packed with shoppers. At least quite a few of them were actually shopping. Which meant standing in very long lines, to get out with their *bargains.* We walked around. We looked here and there. We bypassed the buying and the lines, and simply went out. :-) If we really want/need something, we'll come back another day. *Somehow,* I don't think all those *bargain Special prices* will disappear immediately. Especially since this chain, is the latest of many, to have opened their doors in this area.

Hark! What's that I hear? Could it be the sound of "Price Wars"?
I betcha'... ,-)
